 Ember Research Grant 1: Mental Health/Addiction Innovation

Ember invites applications for this grant from researchers who are looking to make a difference. Ember Korowai Takitini wants to see everyone get the support they need, when they need it and funds research to make this happen. We want to support research which promotes innovative approaches to mental wellbeing, mental illness intervention, and addressing addiction.

Masters or above

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

Mental Health or Addiction treatment, intervention, prevention or promotion focused

Must support innovation

Can have health, social or creative arts focus

Excludes solely medical approaches

Ember Research Grant 2: Lived Experience

Ember Korowai Takitini dreams of a New Zealand which responds better to mental health, addiction and intellectual disability. To do this we need to address social barriers such as self-stigma and discrimination which remain the biggest obstacles to recovery. We want to support researchers with lived experience of mental illness and addiction in their academic careers. We also want to show how people with lived experience are already contributing to research, and hopefully this grant can change the perception of lived experience in a university setting.

Masters or above

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION

Can be in any area or discipline

GENERAL CRITERIA 

Candidates must have a desire to publish research

The maximum Funding available is $50,000.  Funding is available for up to 3 years.
